Thin Tips

How thin can you go, unfortunately you can go to far and to thin. I have just spent about an hour having a browse online to see what people generally think about their weight. I found lots of websites that bombard the reader with how to be thin tips, there are so many that obsess with the word thin.

If we are overweight then it is a good idea to lose some weight, I like to keep my weight down and stay fit and lean, but only because I believe that it is the best and healthiest way to be, not because I want to be super thin like some catwalk model. This is the problem with our society today, the media plugs thin as best, but it has got way out of hand. Being obese can bring with it health issues, but being to thin can also bring with it health issues.

I was shocked to find when I was browsing the web that there are so many personal blogs written by young women that are totally obsessed with being thin, to the point that this is all they think about, it is certainly all they write about. They seem to be willing to do anything to get thinner and to be honest the ones that have a picture of themselves are to thin already. They mention celebrities and models that are thin and how they want to be as thin as them.

These celebs and models that we see in magazines are not real, the photo’s are always tampered with, parts of their bodies are airbrushed out, but the ones that are really thin don’t look healthy and they don’t look attractive. They look what they are, under nourished. Dieting and deprivation is not the solution to the body that we might want, it will just harm our health. I feel sorry for these young women that seem so obsessed with being to skinny, they seem to have their mind only on their weight and most of them are not even overweight. They need to start to enjoy life.

Food is great and our bodies need it to function properly, we can all enjoy eating the food we like and it won’t make us fat if we eat the right amount and exercise regularly. There are plenty of different weight loss programs on this site, but they do not focus on being stick thin, I try to pick programs that are about working towards a healthy weight. Don’t strive to be to thin, just strive to be a healthy weight and enjoy life instead of being obsessed with thin.
