A Slimming World Or A Free Food Person

Dieting is probably one of the biggest past times in the world, there is no research or fact behind that statement, it is just my opinion, in fact it is probably not even seen as a past time. Do you live in a slimming world or are you a free food person?

If we actually think about how much time is spent on hobbies, which is probably a lot, is it as much time as the time that many people spend on a diet. This is why I have referred to it above as a past time, some people are obsessed with dieting. The fact is that people that diet are depriving themselves of food, they may be successful in their attempt to lose weight, but the fact is that a very high majority of these people will put all the weight back on, even if they don’t do it immediately. It may be one, two or three years down the line, but most will put the weight back on.

When the weight goes back on, they will then go on another diet, they become part of a slimming world. Their whole life revolves around food and weight, this is no way to get real satisfaction out of life, how can anyone enjoy their life and be truly happy when they are constantly in battle with food and weight. It is better to live in a free food world, this is one where we only eat food when we are hungry and we only eat enough to satisfy our hunger, this is the real secret to being slim and not being controlled by food and weight.

You may say well it is easy to say that, but you don’t know what it is like to be over weight and have a problem with food. What ever my situation and whether I have had any problems with my weight or with food, there still lies the fact that a diet is only temporary and over eating and gaining weight because of it, has more to do with an emotional issue than a physical one.

So would it not serve us better to explore our relationship with food and the issues we may have surrounding food, rather than pursuing the ever flowing cycle of dieting for weight loss and then over eating that puts the weight back on again. Surely we would find the results we want long term if we look for the reason behind our food and weight issues, it may not even turn out to be an issue with food or our weight, it may be another emotional issue that we manage to keep buried and or manage to live with through the comfort of eating.

These are just my opinions on the constant slimming cycle where we enter this world of lose and then gain over and over again and why there may be another reason to this cycle and a possible cure from it other than dieting. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any views on this subject.
