Running Body

I know you don’t like the posts that are about exercise, but you know it has to be part of your lifestyle to create and maintain that body that you want for yourself, so as the posts about exercise have to be part of this site, so exercise has to be part of your life.

We know that any exercise is good for us and that it helps to keep us not only slim, but fit and healthy. I do as much Walking as I can during a week, really as an extra bonus to my other exercise. I Cycle Twice a Week which is a great fun exercise and I also Run twice a week which isn’t quite as much fun, but just as effective. It may even be more effective, but I think this depends on the individual, after all we are all different and my body may respond better to running over cycling and yours might respond to cycling more than running. So it is worth experimenting with different exercises to find out not only what your body responds to best but also if you like the exercise or not.

Running at first is very hard, it can be exhausting. Seeing others running in the park or along our roads gives us the impression that it isn’t that hard. Well it is, to start with anyway and how some people can do a 26 mile marathon I don’t know, pretty impressive to say the least ( may be one day). As you get in to running it does become easier, you learn how to breath effectively and how to pace yourself. But what this means is that you get better at it and can then push harder and run further.

It is best to start off with a small distance and then gradually work your way up to your first mile and then your second and so on. If you try to do to much distance straight away you might find that you can’t physically manage to get out of bed the next day. So work at it slowly, before you know it you will be doing several miles in one go.

Always make sure you have the right footwear for running, this is important for the support of your feet and a good running shoe will absorb the shock of the pounding through your body frame.

Running is not for everyone, but I enjoy it and may be you will as well, you won’t know unless you try. It is a great calorie burner and very good for toning the muscles, not to mention the great workout it gives your cardiovascular system.
