Although I am not fat and I have never been obese, I have been overweight in the past and this why I started this website. You see it keeps me motivated to keep fit and trim and at the same time to help other people that may be overweight to do the same. But what about my fat life, this is what some people go through, it is part of their own existence.
What I mean by this is that there are plenty of people in this world that are not just a bit overweight, they are very overweight and referred to as obese or fat. They live their lives being fat and whether they have brought it on themselves or not, they often get ridiculed for it. This cannot be a very nice life and more often than not they will take comfort in the one thing that they should not and that is food.
A fat child will get made fun of at school and will be made to feel different, a freak even, this is not going to make that child very confident, there is the argument that the parents should take responsibility, which is fine, but that does not change the fact that the child is in a situation that they do not know how to deal with and it does not make for a very pleasant childhood.
It is not just fat children that are made to feel different, it happens to many adults that are fat, in the work place, in a social environment, basically in society in general. Fat people get called names, they can even suffer physical violence and all just for being overweight. It cannot be a nice feeling to know that some people despise you for just being overweight, people that do not even know you or have ever spoken to you, judge you because of your size.
It is a fact that there are more people than ever in this world that are overweight, so it seems obvious that we need to take a look at the reason why this is so, we can all give our views on the reason why, but that will never solve the problem. We can put it down to the amount of fast food and processed food that is available and thrust at us in commercials day in and day out. We could blame the fact that computer games have stolen our children’s childhood, which has erased all outdoor fun and activities (exercise) in the modern child.
What ever the reason may be, it is only education that will help to reverse the process in the already obese and it is only education that can change the shape and size of our future generations. That education starts with parents and schools, when it comes to children, but for the already fat, they need to know what being fat can do to their health and how to learn not to be fat.
Eating excessively is similar to an addiction to cigarettes or alcohol, these two things come with government health warnings, so why not make fast food come with a government health warning. The media of television is probably still the biggest way of getting exposure, which is why all the fast food companies use it to advertise their products. Although there is more awareness about being overweight and the health problems it can cause that is being spread through this medium, there is still not enough.
Before I write a book about the whys and where fores, and try to put the world to rights, the simple fact of the matter is that it cannot be nice to be in the situation of wanting to be a healthy weight, but living in a body that is far to big. To just say to a person in this position, stop eating so much, is never going to stop them doing just that. They need some real education into the way the body works in respect of burning fat, how they can lose weight and not have to give up all the food they love so much.
So this is why I have taken on the task of delivering over the next week or so, some real information that may help those among us that live their life controlled by food. I want to cover how our bodies actually burn fat, how our mind can help us out in the quest to slim down and why exercise does not have to be something that we hate and something that exhausts us to the point of collapse. We are all capable of getting the body we really want, just the same as we are all capable of not judging someone on their appearance.
It does not matter whether you are just carrying a few extra pounds that you want to skim off or whether you are twice the weight you should be. My aim is to provide some real education that will help as many as possible to get the body they want, we can all do it and we all will, if we decide to commit to it.
If you are very overweight and have had to live with judgement and ridicule from others, then do not let this destroy the inner person that you know you are, those who taunt and bully are normally not very happy in their own self being and probably need more help with their lives than you need to lose weight. Be happy with your own self and if you want to lose weight then just know it is in your power to do so, and you know what, you will.
