Take A Lifestyle Break

The constant dieting and exercise, I just want a break from all of it. Do you feel like this sometimes, well most people do. While it is important to our health and our own self, for what ever reason to live a healthy lifestyle, it is also okay to take the occasional break from it all and why not, it is good to treat ourselves now and again.

Whether you are struggling to lose weight or you have mastered it and are a Slim Jim that enjoys a healthy lifestyle, we are all entitled to a break. A good way to think of it is to treat it as a lifestyle vacation, in fact we can time it with our vacation. Nobody wants to be counting the calories or do an hours workout on their vacation, so make one of your weight control and health diet breaks while you are on vacation.

This is not the only time to take a break though, I like to do it at least once per month, the last weekend of every month I like to indulge in the things that I once consumed as a normal diet, some of them I don’t even like any more, but there are always those things I still miss. It is the same with the exercise, although I might take Sundays as my non exercise day each week, I always find myself going for a walk along the beach or something similar, but during my monthly week end break I become a couch potato for the whole weekend.

I find this monthly break inspires me to work harder and appreciate my normal healthy lifestyle even more and I look forward to getting back to eating healthy options and taking my exercise. I have found that over time I have lowered my indulgence during my breaks, not by choice, but by a natural process of my body and mind becoming use to a healthy lifestyle.

So if you are working hard to lose weight or have just commit to a healthier lifestyle, it is okay to take a break, you are not falling off the wagon so to speak, but regenerating your mind to carry on with the healthy option. You do have to make sure that you get straight back on the wagon though, otherwise it is easy to slip back to your old lifestyle, so bear this in mind and stick to your healthy lifestyle, but enjoy the little breaks.
