When it comes to our health and whether we are actually living a healthy lifestyle or not there is one excuse that pops up a lot and that excuse is our life. The way we live our lives in this modern world can be the reason why we are gaining weight and not getting enough exercise. So our life becomes our excuse, crazy as it may sound it is actually true.
I have heard so many people that make the excuse that when it comes to eating wholesome healthy food, the reason why they don’t eat it as much as they should is because they don’t have time to, so instead they opt for the easy option of quick to cook processed foods or take outs. This means that the body is getting a lot of what it shouldn’t be consuming and not enough of the good stuff found in fresh foods.
The same applies to exercise, again the excuse seems to be that there is not enough time to do any and the result is that the body fat overtakes the muscle density. Apart from this being unhealthy most people are not happy with their bodies because of the fat they are carrying around. Something that they could take care of with a healthy diet and a decent amount of exercise.
We all live busy lives these days, our time is consumed with our careers or families and this is why the things that should matter a lot in our lives like a healthy diet and exercise suffers. It is hard to think about preparing a wholesome meal at the end of a hard day and it’s even harder to think about doing some exercise, to much effort we just want to relax at the end of the day.
There is no real excuse or a legitimate reason why anyone can not fit into their daily schedule some decent food or an exercise session. The secret is to treat it as part of your daily routine, it has to planned into our daily and weekly lives. Plan it in as you would any other thing that you have to do in a day. We may have to go to work for eight hours every day, we may have to take your kids to school, we may have to do the shopping and we may have to clean the house.
These are all things that we accept as part of what we have to do on a daily or weekly basis. This is how we have to think of food and exercise, we have to accept the fact that they are things that we have to do and when we accept that then it is easier to fit them in and make them part of our routine. When we do that, we will maintain our healthy body weight and our muscles then begin to get stronger and burn that fat away.
How do we do this, well the easiest way to do it, is to write down exactly what we do everyday and look for the gaps. Write down what time you leave for work, what time you spend traveling, what time you arrive home and then what you do when you get home. Cover the whole day from waking to going to bed, try this for a week and when you do this you will probably find several hours over that week where you are not actually doing anything, these are the places that you can schedule in some exercise.
If you eat a lot of processed food then time how long it takes to bring that food to the table and see if there is other fresh foods that you can prepare in the same time frame, meals made from scratch do not have to take a long time to prepare and cook. You may find that you actually can save some time making food from fresh. It may be possible to use part of the journey to work to fit in some exercise. Walk part the of way or all the way if you can, take a walk at lunch time, there are many ways to fit in exercise to our daily schedules.
Don’t let life become your excuse not to exercise or eat the right foods, we can all fit these in to our daily lives if we really want to and if we all did then we wouldn’t need to worry about our weight.
