What Fat Types

If we want to avoid putting on weight or we want to lose some weight then we should stay away from fat. In other words don’t include any fat products in our diets. Well this is no completely true because some fats are good for us and essential to our balanced health and no with the right fats we will not gain weight.So what fats should we avoid in our diets? One that has been processed and messed about with to make it more sustainable on our cupboard shelves or the shop shelves is Hydrogenated oil. The process which is called hydrogenation alters the original fats structure making it far from a natural fat. The finished product is an artificial chemical and has no place in our bodies. Hydrogenated oil has been linked to many health problems, although I will not go into that at the moment, if you want to find out more then just do a little search on the Internet there is plenty of information. Hydrogenated fat can be found in most processed foods, it is always best to look at the ingredients list when buying food items.

Now we all know the fat we should be consuming, Omega 3 is an essential fat that we should all be consuming in our diets and our bodies cannot produce it, so this makes it even more important in our food intake. This fatty acid is essential for a healthy body and can be found in such food as organic eggs, beef fed on grass, walnuts, hazelnuts, green leaf vegetables, salmon, tuna there is quite a long list and again to find out all the sources of Omega 3 just research it on the Internet.

So we know what fat we need to avoid and it is a wise choice to check the foods you are currently buying to see if they contain the menace that is Hydrogenated oil and then replace them with the healthier option. The best way to avoid the majority of the bad things that are put in our foods is to avoid as many processed foods as possible, the more natural the food is the better and more healthy it will be.

Hydrogenated oil is even found in some low fat products, I just thought I would add that as there are so many products than can be misleading.
