Everyday Exercise

If we really want to have a great trim toned body, then we know that we will have to do some form of exercise. There is no getting away from the fact that to lose some weight and get our body trim we will need to do some regular activity. In fact we need to make it everyday exercise in some form or another.

We have already looked at how the body burns fat and how our minds can help us in the quest to getting the body we want ( you can find the links to that information at the bottom of this post, if you missed it), but what about the exercise part of losing weight. You cannot expect to lose weight without exercise.

Now you may be able to prove me wrong on that last statement, you can lose weight without exercise, but would you really want to. What happens when some people lose a lot of weight quickly without a proper exercise structure, the skin hangs off of them, that is not a good look.

This is why it is better to plan a good healthy diet followed alongside a good exercise plan. Losing weight at a slower rate and toning the muscles at the same time will give far better results in the long run. It will take longer to get the results, but they will be far better results, you will not get the instant fix of seeing a few pounds carved off your weight like a short term fad diet, in fact you will probably put on a few pounds as muscle weighs more than fat. This is why it is best to ditch the scales and go by measurements and mirror image.

So what exercises can you do? Well the choice is a personal one, but you don’t have to become an athlete overnight, actually you don’t have to become an athlete at all. Why not start off with something low impact and easy to do, like walking. It is a great place to start, a brisk walk for thirty minutes for the first week will tell your muscles that they will be getting some use from now on without shocking them and ending up hurting all over. You can up the length and speed of your walking every week over the first month.

Then after the first month you can decide what you want to move onto, you don’t have to give up walking, but you can move onto other exercises, aerobics, Yoga, weight training, swimming, running, cycling, tennis, squash, boxing or even a martial arts. The list can go on and on, there has to be some form of exercise available for everyone to enjoy. Exercise is not about being a chore or at least it shouldn’t be, it should be something we enjoy, a part of our lifestyle, not only for maintaining a toned body, but for health reasons as well. It is about making it part of our daily routine, just as we have to go to work or eat food, we should also include exercise in our daily life.

So make exercise part of your daily routine along with a healthy diet and take your time in your weight loss efforts, there is no rush, get the body you want slowly and it will stay with you, stop the lose weight and put it back on cycle. Live with your body and enjoy it, don’t put unrealistic demands on it.
