There are things in our lives that are hit or bombarded everyday with certain theories and what happens is that we let these theories into our minds and they become real. This goes for many things and one of the worse there is has to be the weight loss theory. The one behind this is an enormous industry that has many people in the palm of its hand. The weight loss industry is huge and it preys on the people that have been brain washed by its very clever marketing. That marketing has been now for years all about dieting and has used the word diet as a reference to weight loss and there have been many inventive diets created for one thing, to make money.
Diet use to mean and still does to many a combination of food and drink that makes up in terms of its quality and composition what we consume to be healthy. But now it is used as a catch phrase for weight loss and you will here some people say ‘I am on a diet I must lose some weight’, well the fact is we are all on a diet and if we were not we would not survive.
The question is what kind of a diet are you on, one that is healthy and does not pile on the pounds or one that is unhealthy and piling on the pounds. I could give you a diet plan that would see you lose weight without hardly any effort at all, but that is not the whole story because there is no substitute for healthy foods and regular exercise. The whole weight loss industry is based around depriving us of one thing or another to drop the fat and none of these so called effective diets are sustainable which is why they have been branded FAD DIETS.
Like I said above you have to be active and do some regular exercise along with a healthy diet, but if you want to try something that will lose you weight the listen up. I recently did a little experiment on some friends of mine, they were both overweight and I asked them what they eat and how much exercise they do every week.
She didn’t do any exercise at all and he said he didn’t need to do any exercise as his job is very active (electrician) they both admitted to buying ready made easy to make meals (processed foods). This is what I told them ‘ Neither of you do any exercise even though one of you has an active job, that job does not increase your heart rate, yes you are moving around all day more than she does sat behind her desk, but not enough to increase the heart rate as exercise would. You both eat processed food which contains many things such as Hydrogenated fats and far to much Salt, these foods are going to add weight over time’.
I then told them to forget the easy meals for at least one month and buy fresh food and cook it, try and do some exercise that would get there heart rate increased more than just moving around would. If they did this then they would see some weight loss, so they promised me they would give it a go, but I didn’t hold my breath.
One month passed and the truth came out, they had been pathetic on the exercise front, but they had stopped the processed food and had rediscovered food, in fact he had become quite the Chef and was enjoying the kitchen, even claiming it as his domain. He had lost around 16lbs and she had lost 7lbs in weight and that was without eating any less food than they were eating before, it was just more natural food and not some chemically modified mush that was keepig them fat.
So have a think about it and may be just give yourself a chance and cook some good wholesome healthy food for a month, drop the processed junk and see what it can do for you. After that month is up you will not only have probably lost some fat from your body but you will have more energy and will be more inclined to do some regular exercise which will then tone your body and get rid of even more fat.
Well that is it, give it a go!
