Drinking Calories

If you are looking to lose weight or just control your weight then don’t miss those calories in the drinks you consume everyday. It is easy to forget that what we drink also contains calories, sometimes more so than what we eat.

When we are keeping an eye on our daily calorie intake we can concentrate on what calories are present in the food we eat and quite easily forget about our drinks. Some drinks are loaded with calories and if we forget to count these they can easily load up our daily intake over the recommended amount.

Drinks such as Soda’s and fruit juices and hot drinks such as hot chocolate and coffee all have calories in and one that can be easily forgotten is alcohol. They will all add to your daily amount not to mention your waistline. We need to have a certain amount of fluid coming into our bodies everyday, but drinking to many of these drinks will not aid in losing weight.

Water is great for keeping up our fluid intake and won’t add to our waistline. This doesn’t mean to say that all we should drink is water and nothing else. We all have our favorite drinks whether it is coffee or a glass of wine, but all should be consumed in moderation and remembered on our daily calorie count.

If we are consuming a couple of thousand calories in food everyday then several high calorie drinks could amount to half that again, taking us over the recommended amount. So remember to take into account your drinks when you are keeping an eye on your daily calorie intake.

I know that I have forgot about calories in drinks, in fact it is something that I didn’t even think about once upon a time. I hope you have thought about this, but if not, you will now.
