What are body wraps and do they really help us lose weight? I can’t even begin to believe that they actually help in the process of losing weight, especially long term. I see them as an alternative to a fad diet, but why?
I don’t think that this method can actually help us lose weight on a long term basis. There are many different types of body wraps and they promise to shed pounds, tighten skin, get rid of toxins and leave us feeling rejuvenated. Now I am not saying that if you get covered in a mud like solution and then wrapped in bandages and left to ferment that you won’t lose a few centimetres here and there around your body. These wraps promote sweating, so draw out toxins from the body.
In fact I think they take measurements before and after, so once released from the bandages and then washed of the mud and remeasured then you will be delighted at the result from the tape measurement. But will this last, will the few centimetres that you have lost and paid many dollars for last long term.
No I don’t think it will, you see this is really an external detox. A wrap may take a few inches off you, but that it is not a fix for weight loss. You will probably feel better, more alive and even slimmer and your muscles may even fell toned some what. Body wraps are great for the feel good factor and may be even the kick start needed for a healthier lifestyle, due to how you feel afterwards.
It is something worth doing if you can afford it, but not something that should be chosen for the inch loss you may be looking for, but like I said it may have such an effect on you that you will start to live a healthier life and start some regular exercise. So give it a go.
